i subbed for this class today that i subbed a while back and remembered this one girl that always acted up.
but today, she was really calm. i didn’t think twice about it but when i was passing her desk she sighed really realy loud.
so i asked her if she feeling ok and this is how the conversation went
HER: i’m sad mr. song
ME: why? what happened?
HER: my mom died
ME: ok. whatever
then i just walked passed her and kept teaching
so there is this teacher’s aid that stays in the classroom and during break, i asked her if this was true.
that aid happens to be her aunt and she tells me that her mom did pass away and not just that,
she hung herself in her bathroom. i was freakin shocked. so during lunch i went out to the bleachers
and sat next to her and talked to her for a while
ME: hey, do you know how your mom died?
HER: no… all i know is that she’s gone to be in heaven, and i know she’ll b happier there…. mr. song dont cry
she’s in a better place
ME: i’m not crying
HER: my aunt and grandma tells me that she’s finally happy there
ME: so…
HER: its ok mr. song. i’m only sad for short times. thank you. can i hug you?
ME: um… what about a high five? is that ok?
HER: ok thats fine
it will all end one day
i think we’re all secretly waiting for it

Brian, it’s good to hear how God is using you to comfort others. There’s so much sadness in this world, but I’m glad we can look to and trust in God especially in the times when we don’t understand what’s going on.
dang… i wonder how her father is holding up?
